Slides beneath sofas and clears thresholds

Xiaomi has begun selling its new Mijia Sweeping and Mopping Robot 6. The device is now listed on JD.com in two editions: the model with a tank costs 2699 yuan (395 dollars), while the water-connected version is priced at 3099 yuan (455 dollars).

Mijia Sweeping and Mopping Robot 6 design and navigation

At only 90 mm tall, the robot can clean beneath raised furniture, including sofas. It navigates using a dual-camera system and delivers a stated suction power of 28,000 Pa. The appliance also features a dual system designed to prevent hair and pet fur from becoming tangled, an important feature for homes with animals.

Carpet handling and threshold clearance

The robot detects carpets and automatically lifts its microfibre mop pad to avoid wetting the surface. It is also claimed to cross obstacles up to 40 mm high, which should make it better able to move around flats or houses with thresholds.
