Xiaomi unveils Mijia Washing Machine Drum 10Kg Ultra-Thin Fully Embedded

Three-year warranty for the washing machine, 10 years for the motor

Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Washing Machine Drum 10Kg Ultra-Thin Fully Embedded, a new washing machine designed for fully integrated installation. The model is already listed on JD.com at 1,199 yuan (£130).

With a cabinet depth of 516 mm, the appliance is intended to fit more easily into kitchen or utility-room recesses. It has a maximum load capacity of 10 kg.

The new machine features a 525 mm-diameter drum, 24 wash programmes and, according to Xiaomi, can remove 35 types of stubborn stain. It uses a direct-drive motor, with a three-year warranty covering the washing machine and a 10-year warranty for the motor.

Smart-home controls and automation

The appliance supports the Xiaomi Pengpai ecosystem and can be controlled through the company’s mobile app and/or Xiaomi smart speakers. It is also designed to work with other smart-home devices: once a wash cycle has finished, Xiao Ai can instruct a dryer or drying rack to lower itself, while also automatically switching on the bathroom or kitchen lights to make unloading more convenient.

Xiaomi also introduced two very inexpensive refrigerator models today.
