Robotics company Milagrow has unveiled the intelligent Spaze Smart Autonomous Cleaning Robot, an autonomous floor-cleaning system for large premises. The launch is aimed at organisations dealing with labour shortages, rising maintenance costs and the need to maintain consistent hygiene in high-footfall locations.
The Spaze robot vacuum is designed for sites including shopping centres, airports, hospitals, hotels and corporate campuses. It combines five cleaning functions in a single machine: sweeping, brush cleaning, dust removal, vacuuming and wet mopping. The system is intended to handle both dry debris and liquid spills commonly found in public spaces.
It also automatically identifies carpeted surfaces. When moving onto carpet, the robot raises its suction power and switches off its cleaning and wet-mopping modes to prevent moisture damage. A dual roller-brush system removes dust, hair and debris from the carpet surface.
In performance terms, the robot delivers suction power of up to 15,000 Pa and is designed to clean areas of up to 3,700 square metres. It uses a 24 V / 40,000 mAh lithium battery, with claimed operation of up to 12 hours on one charge. Recharging takes approximately 4–5 hours. Noise levels remain below 70 dB, allowing the robot to operate during working hours.
Navigation is handled by the RT2R 3.0 mapping system, which uses LDS lidar, wide-angle and ToF cameras, plus ultrasonic sensors. The robot can also operate in confined settings, including corridors, lifts and restricted-access areas, while maintaining minimal clearance from walls. The system supports autonomous tasks including automatic water refilling, dirty-water drainage, cleaning of dust-collection components and self-charging.
