Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Garment Steamer 2 clothes steamer on its Youpin platform. The crowdfunding campaign will begin on 6 April. Its regular price will be 599 yuan (US$86), while an introductory crowdfunding price of 509 yuan (US$74) will apply during the campaign.

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 delivers steam at 120 g/min, allowing it to tackle stubborn creases through deep penetration of the fabric. A 500 kPa electromagnetic pump provides a powerful, consistent steam flow, with a spray reach of up to 150 cm, making it suitable for vertical steaming and hard-to-reach areas.

It uses a dual-heating arrangement, with separate boilers for the main unit and iron, to generate dry steam at a microscopic concentration that helps keep garments from becoming wet. The appliance heats up in only 65 seconds, reducing the time spent waiting.

Fabric modes and temperature control

Xiaomi has included six dedicated ironing modes for common fabrics: cotton - 145°C, silk - 110°C, synthetic fibres - 125°C, linen - 160°C, blended fabrics - 115°C, and wool - 130°C. NTC temperature-control technology maintains consistent heating and helps prevent fabric damage.

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 has an 8.75-inch ceramic-coated ironing plate. Its transparent water tank can handle up to 15 garments, depending on the fabric type. The steamer supports both dry ironing for shaping and wet ironing for removing deep creases.

Xiaomi states that the garment steamer provides 99.99% sterilisation and 100% mite removal.
