Owners of $2,000 Samsung Bespoke smart washer-dryers have reported a serious fault following a software update. According to Android Authority, some appliances have effectively lost the ability to start a wash cycle.

The issue affects all-in-one models that combine a washing machine and tumble dryer in a single unit. Users say that, after installing the new software, wash programmes previously listed under More Cycles disappeared from the display. The menu was left empty, making it impossible to begin a wash in the usual way.

Reports have appeared both on Reddit and Samsung’s official support forums. In each case, owners describe a similar sequence of events: the update installed, and the appliance immediately lost some of its core functionality.

Temporary workarounds for Samsung smart washer-dryers

Some owners have managed to find temporary fixes. In certain cases, changing the interface theme restored access, while in others the wash-programme menu reappeared only after several consecutive factory resets. For owners of such expensive home appliances, however, this situation clearly seems far from normal.
