Baseus has officially opened pre-orders for the Baseus Card Magnetic Air, described as the “first safe aerospace-grade power bank”, priced at 299 yuan ($43).

The power bank complies with the latest Chinese standard for 2026 and has undergone a range of tests, including needle-penetration, gravity-compression and extreme-temperature testing. It can withstand pressure of up to 2 tonnes and will not catch fire after being pierced by a needle three times.

Available in silver, black and sky blue, the unit is just 6.9 mm thick. It uses the world’s first Glacier temperature-control technology, which increases the heat-dissipation area by 50%, alongside new solid-liquid hybrid battery cells that meet the national standard. NFC touch functionality is also supported for displaying battery status.

Charging performance and NFC status display

The power bank includes a sensor with an AI algorithm. When a phone is magnetically attached to the power bank and connected to a charging cable, it automatically enables wired charging at up to 22.5 W. When connected to a higher-powered adapter or power bank, it can deliver a maximum output of 60 W.

China’s portable charger safety specification

On Wednesday 2 April, China introduced its first mandatory national standard, “Safety Technical Specifications for Portable Chargers”. The standards were jointly developed by the China Electronics Standardisation Institute and 30 leading companies, including Huawei, CATL, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo, Anker and Ugreen, among others.
