Sales of the new Mijia Washing Machine Drum 10Kg Ultra-thin Fully Embedded have begun in China. The new model is priced at just 1,200 yuan (£130).

With a depth of only 516 mm, the washing machine is designed to fit neatly into fitted furniture or recessed spaces. Despite its slim housing, it accommodates up to 10 kg of laundry.

The appliance features a 525 mm drum and offers 24 dedicated washing and garment-care programmes. According to the company, it can tackle 35 types of stubborn stains. It uses a direct-drive motor, with a three-year warranty for the machine itself and a 10-year warranty for the motor.

The new Mijia washing machine integrates with the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem and can be controlled through both smart speakers and a mobile app. AIoT scenarios are also supported: once a wash cycle has finished, for example, the Xiao Ai voice assistant can remind users about the laundry, automatically lower the drying rack and switch on the lights to make hanging clothes easier.
